In the state, *in the last three years till August 2025, 4440 accused were arrested in 3431 cases under the NDPS Act*, from whom *681.09 kg of hashish, 649.79 kg of poppy husk, 61.22 kg of opium, 0.39 gram of cocaine, 58.98 kg of heroin, 4954.34 kg of marijuana, 720278 tablets, 38919 injections and 718201 capsules* were recovered, with an estimated value of ₹2,080,431,296. *As a new trend in NDPS-related crimes, the increasing use of MDMA and synthetic drugs has led to an increase in their seizures. There has been a decrease in the quantity of traditionally used narcotics. *Important actions taken against drug menace in the last one year*- The State Police has taken necessary action against the current business challenge being adopted by criminals, details of which are as follows:- *1- In Champawat district*, STF/Champawat Police arrested accused 1-Isha wife of Rahul Kumar resident of Pampapur, Police Station Banbasa, 2- Rahul Kumar son of late Ganesh Ram resident of Pampapur, Police Station Banbasa. Case No. 67/2025 under sections 8,21,22,29 NDPS Act, Police Station Banbasa. 5.688 kg MDMA was recovered from the possession of the accused (Isha). *2- In Udham Singh Nagar district*, STF/Nainital Police arrested accused Kunal Ram Kohli. Case No. 142/2025, Section 8/21/22, NDPS Act, Police Station Nanakmatta, Details of the seizure of MDMA and precursor chemicals: 1. MDMA 0.741 grams (recovered from accused Kunal Ram) 2. Precursor Chemical (Raw Material) 3. Dichloromethane (Methylene Chloride) – 57.5 liters 4. Acetone for synthesis – 20 liters 5-Hydrochloric Acid (HCL 36.46) – 47.5 liters 6. Methylamine Solution 500 ml 7. Sodium Hydroxide Pellets (28 kg) recovered. *Action against Pharma Companies-* In the above subject matter, diversion and other suspicious activities by pharma companies located in industrial areas established in the state, in which- In the action taken in *Dehradun district*, 900 capsules (Paracetamol Dicyclomine Hydrochloride & Tramadol hydrochloride Capsules), 694 tablets (Buprenorphine 2mg & Naloxone 0.5 mg Sublingual Tablets USP), 327 tablets (Tramadol Hydrochloride 100mg), 192 bottles of Syrup (LYKAREX-TM Syrup 100 ml), 400 filled bottles without wrappers, 31 empty wrappers (Buprenorphine 2mg & Naloxone 0.5 mg Sublingual Tablets), 311 empty wrappers Codeine Phosphate & Triprolidine Hydrochloride Syrup XCOF-T Syrup 100 ml. 4 tablets were recovered from Green Herbal Factory. In a raid on a warehouse located in the Achal Express Chauhan Compound, located at the gas plant in the Ranipur police station area of Haridwar district, a warehouse employee was arrested for illegal narcotic drugs and 24 boxes containing 3,41,568 narcotic capsules. Following extensive interrogation, 2,16,700 vials of narcotic syrup and 6,01,344 Tramadol capsules were recovered from Biotech Limited’s depot in Dehradun. In another operation, the Chandigarh NCB arrested seven drug smugglers in Chandigarh with 60,000 banned tablets manufactured by J.R. Pharma Company, SIDCUL, Haridwar. Following interrogation, a raid was conducted at J.R. Pharma Company, SIDCUL, Haridwar district, and banned tablets worth ₹2.5 lakh were recovered. The Uttarakhand Police is continuously making efforts to prevent drug abuse. Along with the continuous arrest of drug smugglers and preventive measures, special attention is being focused on public awareness
