New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended Navratri greetings to the nation and wished for “new strength and confidence” among citizens. Sharing a post on social media, PM Modi wrote, “Best wishes to all of you on Sharadiya Navratri. May this holy festival, filled with devotion, courage, restraint, and determination, bring new strength and confidence to everyone’s life. Jai Mata Di.”
Sharadiya Navratri is a vibrant and sacred Hindu festival that lasts for nine nights and celebrates the divine feminine power of Goddess Durga. Celebrated in the month of Ashwin, the festival is accompanied by fervent worship, elaborate rituals, and cultural events. Since each day is dedicated to a different form of the Goddess, symbolizing different aspects of power, compassion, and wisdom, Prime Minister Modi said Monday is dedicated to Goddess Shailputri.
He wrote that today is a special day during Navratri for the worship and rituals of Goddess Shailputri. I wish that everyone’s life is filled with good fortune and excellent health through the Mother’s love and blessings. During the nine days, devotees fast, sing devotional songs, and participate in traditional dances like Garba and Dandiya, creating a joyful atmosphere. He further wrote that Navratri is a festival of pure devotion. Many people have expressed this devotion through music. I am sharing one such soulful song composed by Pandit Jasraj ji.
PM Modi wrote that this auspicious occasion of Navratri is very special this time. Along with the GST savings festival, the mantra of Swadeshi will get a new energy during this time. Let us join in collective efforts to achieve the resolve of a developed and self-reliant India.
If you have sung any bhajans or have a favorite bhajan, please share it with me. I will post some of them in the coming days.
Meanwhile, later today, the Prime Minister will visit Tripura to perform puja and darshan and inaugurate the development work of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari. He will continue his tour of Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura, where he will lay the foundation stone for several development projects worth over ₹5,100 crore in Itanagar. He will also address a public meeting.
