The accused who had escaped after shooting a Haryana Police Sub Inspector near Haridwar Roadways Bus Station on Saturday in Haridwar, shot himself in Dehradun during the siege on Sunday, due to which he died. The police team from Haridwar has also reached the spot in Dehradun. It is being told that the accused was staying at the place of an advocate known to him near Laxman Chowk in Dehradun. When the police arrived, he opened fire.
Let us tell you that on Saturday, the accused shot a Sub Inspector of the police team that had come to Haridwar to catch the criminal from Jind district of Haryana. The bullet hit the Inspector’s stomach and elbow, after which the criminal fled from the spot. The injured Sub Inspector was immediately taken to the hospital from where he has been referred to AIIMS in Rishikesh. According to the police, Sub Inspector Surendra of Jind district of Haryana, along with his team, had reached Haridwar in search of a criminal who was absconding in the case of threatening the SP there. The police had found the location of the criminal near the Roadways Bus Station and Railway Station. When Inspector Surendra was searching for him near the bus station, he saw the criminal. As soon as the inspector moved towards him, the accused started running away from there. Inspector Surendra caught him at a short distance. During this, a scuffle broke out between the two and they fell on the ground. Then the criminal took out a pistol and shot the inspector. Surendra was bleeding due to the bullet and the criminal took advantage of the situation and ran away.
