In Sidkul Kotwali area, a husband killed his friend by hitting him on the head with a hammer on suspicion of having an illicit relationship with his wife. Police arrested the accused and recovered the hammer and other items used in the murder. The accused was sent to jail after being produced in court. After post-mortem, the body of the youth was handed over to the family.
Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Singh Dobal said that Dharmendra (42) and his friend Lalit (38), residents of village Naugaon, police station Syohara, district Bijnor, were living on rent in Sukhveer Singh’s house in Rawli Mahdood for a few years. Both were working in a company. On Friday night at around 2.30 am, Sukhveer Singh, resident of Rawli Mahdood, informed that Dharmendra killed his friend Lalit by hitting him on the head with a hammer while he was sleeping.
On receiving the information, Kotwali in-charge Manohar Singh Bhandari reached the spot with his team. Accused Dharmendra was arrested in front of the landlord. A case was registered under sections of murder on the complaint of Sukhveer Singh. After taking the body into custody, forensic team was called and evidence was collected.
Police investigation revealed that Dharmendra and Lalit lived together. Dharmendra’s wife was also with him. He was talking to Lalit for some time. He suspected Lalit of having an illicit relationship with unmarried Lalit for about a year.
So on Friday night, while he was sleeping, Dharmendra hit Lalit on the head with a hammer and then strangled him with a dupatta and killed him. Inspector Manohar Singh Bhandari said that the hammer used in the murder and the clothes he was wearing at that time were recovered. On Saturday, the accused was produced in the court and sent to jail.
