Due to continuous rain, the Yamunotri highway has not been able to open even on the 13th day, which has increased the trouble of passengers and local people. The highway is closed at about four places ahead of Syanachatti, the work of opening which is going on. However, opening the road remains a big challenge due to boulders falling continuously from the hill in Jangalchatti. Due to the blockage of the road, the supply of ration material has stopped in many villages of Yamunotri Dham and Geeth Patti. At the same time, electricity and network facilities have also come to a standstill in these areas for the last six days, due to which people have to spend nights in the dark and there is also a lot of problem in communication. Local leaders and villagers have demanded the administration to restore the highway and power supply as soon as possible. Along with this, a request has also been made to deliver LPG cylinders and other essential items to the disaster affected areas. Additional District Magistrate Mukta Mishra also inspected the Syanachatti area on Thursday and directed the officials to coordinate and restore essential facilities as soon as possible
