Dehradun: On the lines of Kedarnath Dham, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) did not approve the Yamunotri heli service. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UKADA) had made preparations to start a heli service from Kharsali to Yamunotri Dham. For this, a helipad was built near Yamunotri.
UKADA was preparing to start a heli service this time for the convenience of pilgrims going to Yamunotri Dham. The trial of helicopter landing was also done twice on the helipad built near Yamunotri. Even the tender process for the heli service was started. But due to security and other technical reasons, DGCA did not give permission to operate the heli service.
UCADA’s Chief Executive Officer Sonika said that due to security and technical reasons, permission from DGCA has not been received for operating helicopter services in Yamunotri Dham. Due to which helicopter services will not be able to start this year.
