59 roads including Tawaghat-Ghatiyabagh-Lipulekh National Highway are closed due to debris after rain in the state. This includes 36 roads of rural areas. Debris has come near Malghat in Tawaghat-Ghatiyabagh-Lipulekh National Highway in Pithoragarh district. In the same district, Dharchula-Tawaghat National Highway is closed due to big stones at kilometer 56.700
Big stones have also come at four different places in Jauljibi-Munsyari motor road. At the same time, debris has fallen on kilometer 166.171 of Thal-Munsiyari road of the district. A total of 19 roads are closed in the district. Apart from this, five roads are closed in Dehradun district, one in Almora, four in Bageshwar, eight in Chamoli, one in Nainital, five in Pauri, four in Rudraprayag, one in Tehri and 11 in Uttarkashi.
Heavy rains are continuing in Uttarakhand since this morning. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains has been issued in some areas of Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar districts. Apart from this, there are chances of heavy rains in other districts as well.
Director of Meteorological Center Rohit Thapliyal said, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the entire state till August 5. Problems may increase due to heavy rains especially in the mountainous areas. While giving instructions, he said, avoid traveling in mountainous areas unless necessary.
