Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has requested girls not to step out of the hostel at night. In the case of gang rape of an MBBS student from Odisha who came to study in a private medical college in Durgapur, Mamata has asked girls to be more careful about their safety. According to him, everyone should be careful about their safety.
Meanwhile, Mamata today attacked the central government over the situation in North Bengal. She says she is not waiting for help from the Centre. The state government has started the work of reconstruction of North Bengal on its initiative.
“How did you go out at half past twelve at night?” Before leaving for a tour of North Bengal on Sunday, he told reporters at the airport, “Who is responsible for the security of the private medical college? How did she go out at half past twelve in the night? However, the police is investigating the incident and the chief minister has also assured strict action against the culprits.
“The chief minister also said, “”The girl is a student of a private medical college.” Three girls were raped on a beach in Odisha three weeks ago. What action has the Odisha government taken? Who is responsible for the private medical college? The police are the best to talk about this case.
I am shocked by this incident. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sent a message to all state and union territory governments to take strict action against such incidents. “””Whenever this happens in Bengal, we don’t take anything lightly.” Everything is important. I am shocked by this incident. The girl was studying in a private medical college. How did she go out at 12:30 at night?”
He further said that as far as I know, the incident took place in a forest. I don’t know what happened at half past twelve in the night. The investigation is going on. Private medical colleges should also take responsibility for their students. They should be more vigilant towards girls, especially at night.”
The student had gone for a walk outside the college campus On Friday night, a medical student from Jaleswar in Odisha had gone for a walk outside the Medical College campus with a friend. The two were walking on the Mohan Bagan Avenue, adjacent to the Durgapur Government College. It was then that some people took her into the forest in the dark and she was gang-raped. It is also alleged that during the incident, the girl’s friend left her and ran away. He returned shortly after and admitted the victim to a private hospital.
The victim’s family claims that five people are involved in the gang rape case. Not all the accused know the victim. Now, investigators are also investigating the role of the victim’s friend. Police have so far arrested three people in connection with the incident.
