Uttarkashi: After 24 hours of Dharali disaster, helicopters have started flying. Rain has stopped in Uttarkashi. After which NDRF teams and medical staff trapped on Gangotri Highway are now reaching Dharali by helicopter. 2 to 3 helicopters are flying from Bhatwadi helipad. Within half an hour of taking off at around 5 pm, about 40 helicopters have been shorted.
In fact, to speed up the relief and rescue work in Dharali of Uttarkashi, many teams were sent to the spot during the incident, but due to heavy rain and fast flow of water in the river, roads were either washed out at many places or heavy debris from the mountain fell on the roads. Due to which the roads were blocked at many places. At present, the biggest problem is Gangaani, where the bridge is broken. While the second problem is due to the road being completely washed away in Bhatwadi.
The special thing is that a large number of NDRF teams are stuck here. For the last several hours, the NDRF and the district administration team are not able to move forward from here. In view of this, these teams are now being sent to Dharali from the helipad located at Bhatwadi. About 2 to 3 helicopters have deployed more than 40 shorties and are continuously working to deliver teams to the spot.
On the other hand, the Gangotri National Highway has been washed out at many places. The BRO bridge built on the Gangotri National Highway near Ganganani has also been washed away due to heavy debris, stones and cloudburst. Due to which the national highway going to Harsil, Dharali and Gangotri has been closed due to heavy destruction.
On the other hand, the road going to the China border and the road going to Gangotri have also been completely cut off from the district headquarters. Which may take more than a week to be built. The administration is going to Dharali Harshil disaster affected areas only through heli service.
Uttarkashi CEO Janak Singh Panwar says that on Tuesday, at the time of the incident, about 70 people from Dharali town towards Gangotri were rescued with the help of SO Harshil and ITBP. All are safe in Gangotri. There is a possibility of casualties among the people present in hotels and lodges. But nothing can be said about their number right now.
Harsil market has also suffered a lot in this disaster. Along with this, the army camp present in Harshil has also fallen prey to the disaster. According to the information, some soldiers are also missing from the camp.
