New Delhi: The water level of the historic old Yamuna bridge built in 1866 on the Yamuna river, which is known as the Iron Bridge or Railway Bridge No. 249, has risen to a dangerous level of 206.10 meters. In such a situation, due to security reasons, the railway has stopped the operation of trains on this bridge with immediate effect. Along with this, Northern Railway has cancelled, diverted, short-terminated and short-originated many trains.
On Tuesday, the operation of about 22 trains was affected. The operation of these trains may remain affected on Wednesday. Also, the number of affected trains may increase further. In such a situation, railway passengers should check the status of the trains before leaving home.
According to the information released by Northern Railway
54057 Old Delhi to Shamli passenger train was cancelled on Tuesday.
On September 3, i.e. Wednesday, the operation of train number 54058 (Shamli–Old Delhi Passenger) has been cancelled.
According to the information received from the railways, the operation of many other trains was canceled on Tuesday.
Their operation may be affected today on Wednesday as well.
Among the affected trains are 64445 Ghaziabad – Delhi Junction EMU link train 64412 also canceled
64407 Ghaziabad – Delhi Junction EMU and link train 64001 also canceled
64412 Delhi Junction – Ghaziabad EMU, link train 64445 canceled

Check the status of trains
Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay has advised passengers to contact NTES or Helpline 139 before travelling and check the status of trains only after that leave home, so that inconvenience can be avoided. He has said that when the water level in the Yamuna river becomes normal, the operation of trains will be started again from the Old Rail Bridge (Iron Bridge).
