A major operation was carried out by the vigilance team in Haridwar today. The team arrested a Block Education Officer red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000.
According to reports, the co-accused, Mukesh, the acting headmaster of Mangolpur, had demanded a bribe of Rs. 20,000 on behalf of the Block Education Officer. The accused Block Education Officer, Braj Pal Singh Rathore of Bahadrabad, had demanded the bribe from the victim in exchange for issuing a provisional certificate (renewal certificate) for the recognition of Police Modern School, 40 Battalion PAC, Haridwar.
Following a complaint, the team arrested the officer today. It is worth noting that the wife of Block Education Officer Braj Pal Singh Rathore of Bahadrabad is a Circle Officer (CO) in Dehradun
