The lack of rain and snowfall this season has resulted in a dry, biting cold that is affecting both the plains and the mountains. Meanwhile, meteorologists have predicted a change in weather in the mountainous regions of the state after two days. This could lead to a drop in maximum daytime temperatures across the state.
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, the weather will remain dry throughout the state today. However, a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in the plains districts of Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar, as well as in Nainital, Champawat, and Pauri.
Between January 16 and 19, light rain is expected in some parts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts. Snowfall is also likely in areas above 3400 meters. The dry cold is having a greater impact on the plains. As a result, a drop in minimum nighttime temperatures is expected in the coming days
