Dense fog is expected to blanket both the hilly and plains regions of Uttarakhand on Friday, leading to cold day conditions. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for severe cold day conditions in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Nainital, and parts of Pauri district. Dense fog is likely in some areas of these districts.
In addition, light rain and snowfall are expected in parts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts. Snowfall is particularly likely in areas above 3500 meters. This will directly impact temperatures across the state.
Looking ahead, the weather will remain dry across the state from December 27th to 29th. However, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall around the New Year. Light rain and snowfall are expected in the hilly districts on December 30th and 31st, while the plains will remain dry.
