Rain wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand this year. The state received 44 percent of its normal rainfall in September alone. The highest rainfall recorded until September 25th was in Bageshwar district, which recorded 429 mm of rain, 251 percent more than normal. Dehradun district came in second, receiving 450.2 mm of rain, 121 percent more than normal.
Meanwhile, the monsoon will completely withdraw from Uttarakhand in two days. As a result, the plains will be warm and sunny, bringing heat to its peak. However, light rain in the mountainous regions will bring pleasant weather. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, the monsoon will withdraw from the state after two days.
While some parts of the mountainous regions are likely to receive light showers until September 28th, the plains are experiencing bright sunshine, leading to daytime temperatures rising four to five degrees above normal. A similar situation occurred on Thursday. Along with the plains, temperatures in the mountainous regions also increased, impacting the nighttime minimum temperature.
