The Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has granted permission for bus routes to be changed at any time. Buses can be diverted to routes with higher passenger traffic. For this, the center in-charge of the respective depot must inform the IT team at the corporation headquarters half an hour in advance. Instructions have been issued to the center in-charges of all depots across the state. During the festive season, the Transport Corporation has made some positive changes to the operation of roadways buses. This will provide significant relief to passengers. The corporation has granted permission to change the routes of roadways buses as per convenience. It should be noted that during the festive season, buses operate from Delhi to several routes in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, Tanakpur, and Rudrapur. Additionally, the corporation’s buses operate on several mountain routes, including Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora, Pauri, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh. The routes for buses from approximately 20 of the corporation’s depots have also been pre-determined. However, during the festive season, there’s been an increase in the number of passengers traveling from Uttarakhand to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The number of passengers traveling from Delhi to several cities in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Haldwani, Pithoragarh, and Tanakpur, has also increased. In light of this, the Transport Corporation has granted permission to the center in-charges of all depots to divert or reroute routes. If a rural depot bus traveling from Delhi to Dehradun has a large number of passengers from Rishikesh, the bus’s route can be changed via Rishikesh. Similarly, a bus from the Rudrapur depot can be diverted via Haldwani and Tanakpur. Similarly, routes to any city can be changed. The Transport Corporation has approximately 850 buses According to information, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation had approximately 900 buses operated by the corporation and on contract until last year. Of these, 50 buses have become obsolete. Now, only approximately 850 buses are in operation. Among these, a large number of buses have already completed their mileage. The corporation is preparing to auction them. However, the corporation may receive 200 new buses in the next two months. Roadways bus routes can be changed as per convenience. Instructions have been issued to the center in-charges of all depots. Center in-charges will have to inform headquarters before changing the route. The IT team will update the new route immediately
