UTTARAKHAND SUB AREA AND SURYA COMMAND ORGANISED “JOIN ARMED FORCES MEDICAL SERVICES (AFMS)” CAMPAIGN FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS AT DOON MEDICAL COLLEGE, DEHRADUN
DEHRADUN:As part of the ongoing outreach initiative by the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), for making a career in the armed forces an attractive option for medical students and doctors Military Hospital Dehradun under the aegis of Uttrakhand Sub Area successfully conducted a ‘Join the AFMS Campaign’ at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) in Dehradun today.
The team headed by Brigadier Parikshit Singh, Commandant of Military Hospital Dehradun, along with Colonel AW Kashif, Lieutenant Colonel Ankit Dangi, and Major Garima Chaudhary conducted a fruitful session in presence of Dr. Geeta Jain, Principal of GDMC and Dr RS Bisht Medical Superintendent giving an insightful perspective on the Armed Forces Medical Services, highlighting its unique blend of a fulfilling career and the opportunity to serve the nation as doctors in uniform be it clinicians, super specialists, teachers, researchers or administrators. The session was attended by about 130 medicos comprising final-year MBBS students and interns.
Doctor(Major) Gaurav Makhija (Retd), Associate Professor of the Department of Paediatrics, GDMC, facilitated the conduct of the event, which generated significant interest and lively interaction amongst the audience.
