Jolly Grant (Dehradun): Uttarakhand’s SDRF has got second place in the whole country in the Collapse Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) competition organized by NDRF in Ghaziabad from 21 to 23 April. Himachal Pradesh team got first place and Andhra Pradesh got third place in the competition.
Before the final round, the first phase of the competition was organized in four zones across the country on 17 and 18 March. In which 30 SDRF teams from all over the country participated. On the basis of performance, two best teams were selected from each zone and a total of eight teams were selected. After which the final round was organized in the 8th Battalion of NDRF, Ghaziabad between 21 and 23 April.
A total of 14 soldiers participated in the competition. In which the soldiers had to rescue the people buried under the debris with the stipulated time and existing equipment etc. In which the SDRF of the state has performed excellently and secured second place in the country. SDRF Inspector General Arun Mohan Joshi, Commander Arpan Yaduvanshi said that the experience of this competition will help the soldiers a lot in Chardham Yatra and other rescue operations.

The state’s SDRF has also received a cash prize of Rs 75,000 along with the glittering trophy. On reaching the headquarters, the soldiers were welcomed by Deputy Commander Shubhank Raturi, Sub Inspector Anoop Ramola, Pankaj Kharola, Chief Constable Digpal Lal, Manoj Dhoni, Deepak Kumar, Mukesh Tolia, Jaikrit Singh, Amit Rathore, Jaideep Gairola, Sohan Singh, Vipin Arya, Vikram Chand, Prakash Kumar etc.
