Along with lecturers in the education department, now assistant teachers (LT) will also be able to become principals in inter colleges through departmental direct recruitment. The government is now going to bring a proposal in the cabinet for the recruitment which is stuck in the court. According to Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the posts of principals will be filled through departmental direct recruitment by bringing a proposal in the cabinet meeting. 79 percent of the posts of principals in the inter colleges of the state are vacant.
The posts of principals in the government inter colleges of the state have been filled through departmental promotion till now, but due to lack of promotion and delay in it, 1101 out of 1385 posts of principals in the department are vacant. The same is the condition of headmasters. Out of 910 schools, only 122 have headmasters. Whereas 788 posts have been vacant for a long time.
The government had first decided to fill 692 posts of principals through departmental direct recruitment. The government had issued an order for this. Lecturers up to the age of 50 were considered eligible for recruitment. At the same time, assistant teachers and LT teachers were left out. After the agitation of angry teachers, the recruitment through the State Public Service Commission was postponed. At the same time, some assistant teachers went to court against the recruitment.
Teachers are angry with this
For departmental direct recruitment on the post of Principal, teachers say that these posts are promotion posts. All vacant posts should be filled through promotion. At the same time, some teachers say that assistant teachers and LT teachers should also be included in the recruitment.
