Dehradun: Homework has started for giving promotion to the officers of Provincial Police Service in Uttarakhand. Preparations are being made for this not only at the police headquarters but also at the government level. Efforts are being made for promotion from senior officers of Provincial Police Service to the post of Deputy Superintendent.
Like various departments in Uttarakhand, the process of promotion is in progress in the police department as well. Talking about the officers of Provincial Police Service in this episode, many officers of the state are expected to be given promotion this time in relation to the vacant posts. The special thing is that the necessary formalities are being completed at the level of Police Headquarters in the matter. At the same time, homework is also being done for this at the government level.
Record related to ACR is being prepared: At present, before promotion, the record related to ACR (Annual Confidential Report) of the concerned officers is being prepared. If we look at the status of vacancies in the state, 11 inspectors are seen getting promotion to the post of CO. However, this figure of 11 inspectors getting promotion is a combination of civil police, intelligence and PAC cadre.
Most of the vacancies are in civil police. In civil police, CO is retiring in the current selection year. Similarly, one post is already vacant, while two posts are getting vacant due to promotion of CO. In this way, a total of 9 out of 11 posts will be vacant in civil police in this selection year, on which the inspector can be promoted.
In the list of vacancies for promotion, one post is of intelligence and one is of PAC cadre. In this, one post will be vacant due to promotion in intelligence. Whereas, one post is getting vacant due to retirement in PAC. Similarly, there will be a good number of officers getting promotion to the post of senior deputy superintendent.
A total of 15 COs of Uttarakhand will be promoted to the post of senior deputy superintendent. In this, the officers will get the gift of promotion on the basis of seniority of all three cadres. Promotion is also pending as Additional Superintendent of Police in the state. At present, 9 posts are vacant for this in the state. Whereas, after some promotions and retirement in the current selection year itself, the number of vacant posts will increase to 13.
Two posts of 8,900 grade pay created in PPS: Although two posts of 8,900 grade pay have been created for the first time in the Provincial Police Service (PPS) cadre, but due to no officer fulfilling the eligibility, the possibility of promotion on these seems less. As per the service rules, 18 years of service as PPS is mandatory.
Similarly, this promotion can be given to PPS after 3 years of mandatory service on 8,700 grade pay. However, in terms of seniority, Shahjahan Ansari and Jagdish Chandra are the most senior officers in this. Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan has been giving instructions to complete the process of promotion on vacant posts in the state soon. Now soon after completing all the formalities, promotions are expected to take place on various vacant posts after the DPC meeting.
