Dehradun: Trials for Uttarakhand Premier League Season 2 have begun today. For Garhwal Division, these trials are being held at Ayush Cricket Academy, Chhidarwala, Dehradun. On the other hand, if we talk about Kumaon, then trials are being held at Amenity School, Udham Singh Nagar. In these trials, the enthusiasm of emerging cricket players from every corner of the state is being seen. Today, on the first day, a total of 481 players have registered from all over the state.
For Garhwal Division, a total of 325 players have registered at Ayush Cricket Academy, Chhidarwala, Dehradun. On the other hand, 156 players of Kumaon Division have registered at Amenity School, Udham Singh Nagar. In the selection process of the players of Garhwal Division, Ajay Manu, Surendra Baggal and Vishal Bhatia played the role of selectors. Rajiv Dutta took up his important responsibility as observer. On the other hand, Ranjit Mali and Krishna Das were the selectors for the players of Kumaon division. Pithoragarh Secretary and UPL Committee member Umesh Chandra Joshi played the role of observer.
Let us tell you that these UPL trials will start from August 4 and will continue on August 5 and 6, 2025. During this, the skills, technique, and performance of the players will be closely evaluated so that the best talents can be selected for the Uttarakhand Premier League. The Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) provides a platform for the cricketers of the state, where they can showcase their talent and make a mark at the national and international level. Organizing this league not only promotes local cricket, but also provides an opportunity to young players to step into professional cricket.
UPL Committee members said, we are very happy to see the encouraging participation of players in the trials this year. Many of these 481 players from Garhwal and Kumaon region have exceptional talent. Our aim is to select the best players through these trials, who will perform well in the Uttarakhand Premier League. The list of selected players will be prepared after the completion of the trials. They will get the opportunity to join various teams for UPL 2025.
