The Uttarakhand Police has secured the first position in the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) 2.0 monthly rankings. The state police achieved this feat by surpassing the Haryana Police. This information was shared by Police Spokesperson IG Law and Order Sunil Kumar Meena during a press conference on Thursday. He also spoke about the commendable role of the SDRF in the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. The SDRF team has also been awarded medals by the Uttar Pradesh government.
IG Meena stated that the Uttarakhand Police has once again proven its leading role in digital policing and the modernization of the justice system. The Uttarakhand Police ranked first in the CCTNS-ICJS progress dashboard report published by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). This achievement is a result of the state police’s technical expertise, its ability to quickly adopt new systems, and the coordinated efforts of all districts in the state. Under this system, states are required to integrate police, courts, prosecution, prisons, forensic, and fingerprint data onto a single digital platform. Uttarakhand has fully adopted this process. In the report currently released by the NCRB, Uttarakhand has received 93.46 points, while Haryana, which is in second place, received 93.41 points, and the Assam Police, in third place, received 93.16 percent.
All districts of Uttarakhand have started uploading case diaries, charge sheets, digital evidence, and judicial processes onto a single digital platform. DIG Law and Order Dhirendra Gunjyal, SP Law and Order Vishakha Ashok Bhadane, and Commandant SDRF Arpan Yaduvanshi were present during the press conference.
