Tehri/Ramnagar/Luxor: The water level of Tehri Dam is continuously rising due to rain in the mountains. The administration has appealed to the general public not to go near Tehri Lake. Rain is also causing a disaster in the plains. Banganga is flowing above the danger mark in Haridwar. Rivers are in spate in Laksar area. All the ponds in the surrounding areas are full to the brim. Water has entered many places in the area. At the same time, the water level of Kosi river in Ramnagar has also crossed 38 thousand cusecs. Dhangadhi drain is also in spate here. Due to which the administration is on alert.
Increased water level of Tehri Lake: Due to continuous rain in the district, normal life has been affected. In the district, Rishikesh-Gangotri Highway NH-34 is closed due to debris near Syansu and Kandisaur Paniyali. Due to closure of NH, teams going for relief and rescue operations are stuck.
According to the data released by the district administration, if we talk about the last 24 hours, in different cities of the district, 58.00mm rain has been recorded in Tehri, 75.00mm in Kirtinagar, 105.00mm in Dhanaulti, 13.00mm in Ghansali, 90.5 in Devprayag, 205.00mm in Narendra Nagar. The water level of Tehri Dam Lake has reached 805.94mtr. On August 5, the water level of Tehri Dam was recorded at 803.820mtr. About 380 cumecs of water is being released from the dam. 7 state highways and 25 link roads are closed in the district. Electricity supply has also been affected in development blocks Pratapnagar, Chamba, Bhilangana, Tholdahar.
Ganga river is flowing near 461.34 mtr near Ramkund – Devprayag.
Ganga river – Mayakund is flowing near 340.22 mtr near Muni Ki Reti.
Alaknanda river is flowing near 534.40 in Srinagar
High alert issued in Haridwar: Nildhara Ganga is flowing beyond the danger mark in Haridwar. Due to which high alert has been issued in the low lying areas of Haridwar district like Laksar, Khanpur and Raisi area. Police patrolling unit is continuously patrolling. Due to the increase in the water level of Ganga in Gangdaspur and Walawali dam from Fatwa village of Laksar area, erosion and leakage has started. The administration is constantly monitoring the water level of Nildhara Ganga and Sonali river.
Alert issued in these villages: The administration has instructed the villagers to be cautious in villages like Balawali, Kalsia, Dumanpuri, Saupari, Kewalpuri, Panditpuri, Raisi, Rampur Raighati, Niranjanpur, Maharajpur Kala, Maharajpur Khurd Gangdaspur, Nandpur, Sherpur Bela, Madabela, Jogawala, Dabki Kheda, Chandrapuri Khard, Chandrapuri Khadar, Dallawala, Makhiyali Kalan Makhiyali Khur, Dosni, Mutkabad, Gadhi Sanghipur, Jainpur Khurd Jainpur Kala, Ladpur Khard, Ladpur Kalan, Mubarikpur, Mohammadpur Bujug, Mohammadpur Mathana etc. adjoining the Ganga and Solani.
