Nainital: Various district courts in Uttarakhand have been receiving repeated bomb threats. But now the threat has reached the Uttarakhand High Court in Nainital. Following the arrival of a threatening email on Thursday, the High Court premises were evacuated and security was increased. Meanwhile, the Nainital District Court has received another bomb threat, marking the third consecutive threat to the District Court.
The administration was thrown into a panic following the bomb threat to the Nainital High Court on Thursday. The High Court premises were evacuated and placed under a police cordon. It is reported that the Chief Justice of the High Court was threatened with a bomb blast via email. Meanwhile, the Nainital District Court, along with the High Court, received a bomb threat for the third consecutive time. On Thursday, the District Court received a third email threatening to bomb the District Court. The threat has caused panic within the administration. In order to protect the safety of litigants and lawyers attending the court, advocates at the High Court and District Court have demanded that both courts be closed until the senders of the emails are identified.
Currently, additional police forces are deployed at the District Court. Those entering the court are being screened through metal detectors and other checks before being allowed to proceed. Additional police forces have also been deployed at the High Court. Those attending hearings at the High Court are also subject to strict security measures.
It should be noted that the Nainital District Court has been receiving bomb threats for three consecutive days. On the first day, a bomb was planted in the chairs of the District Court judges, on the second day, a human bomb was used to attack the court, and on the third day, the District Court received threats of a drone bomb.
