Dehradun: The main event was held at FRI, Dehradun, on the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand. PM Modi, who attended the event as the chief guest, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects and schemes worth crores of rupees. During the event, PM Modi pledged to spread the culture of the Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra, Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra, Adi Kailash Yatra, and Jauljibi Fair to every corner of the country. On this occasion, PM Modi gave Uttarakhand a new identity as the Spiritual Capital of the World.
He said, “The true identity of Uttarakhand lies in its spiritual power. If Uttarakhand resolves, it can establish itself as the Spiritual Capital of the World within a few years. Devbhoomi is the heartbeat of spiritual life. Countless pilgrimage sites like Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Adi Kailash, and Jageshwar are symbols of our faith. Millions of devotees visit these shrines every year.” His journey opens the path of devotion and infuses new energy into Uttarakhand’s economy. PM Modi said that now there is a need to focus on Uttarakhand’s hidden potential. Tourists remember traditions like Harela, Phooldei, and Bhitoli after being a part of them. The soul of Uttarakhand resides in its fairs.
Today, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth โน8,260 crore to mark the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand’s statehood. These projects cover key sectors such as drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development.
Under the AMRUT scheme, the Prime Minister inaugurated Dehradun water supply coverage, an electricity substation in Pithoragarh, solar power plants in government buildings, and an astroturf hockey field at Haldwani Stadium (Nainital).
In addition, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for two important drinking water projects: the Song Dam Drinking Water Project (Dehradun) and the Jamrani Multipurpose Dam Project (Nainital). The Song Dam project will provide 150 MLD of drinking water to Dehradun daily, while the Jamrani project will support irrigation, drinking water supply, and power generation.
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the establishment of a women’s sports college in Champawat, a state-of-the-art dairy plant in Nainital, and a power substation project.
