The special session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly was extended by one day at the meeting of the Legislative Assembly Business Advisory Committee on the demand of the ruling party and the opposition. For the third consecutive day today, the state’s achievements over the past 25 years and its future roadmap were discussed. After the discussion late in the evening, the House was adjourned sine die.
Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Chaudhary said that the special session discussed the state’s achievements and future roadmap, which will accelerate Uttarakhand’s development in the future.
MLA Trilok Singh Cheema said that today is a day filled with pride and emotion. We are celebrating our silver jubilee. The progress Uttarakhand has made in the past 25 years is an example for the country. Uttarakhand has reached new heights in the health sector. The health budget has increased by 16% in the last five years. The BJP government has set an example of good governance and progress.
Meanwhile, MLA Shakti Lal Shah said that everyone played a role in building the state. Those who gathered people with drums and cymbals played the most significant role. Those who played the drums and damaus should also be respected. They should be given pensions. During the 2017 elections, I had to walk through hundreds of villages, but our government built 90% of the roads. We should prepare a roadmap for what Uttarakhand and the mountains need. Officials living in the mountains must be given respect commensurate with the mountains. We must work on health and education in the mountains. Our Chief Minister is young, and the state is also young.
MLA Munna Singh Chauhan raised the issue of the Golden Card in the House. Hospitals stopped accepting Golden Cards due to non-payment. The government should take cognizance of this matter.
Congress MLA Manoj Tiwari said that education and health are two fundamental issues that remain unresolved. There is talk of the state’s progress. We are exploring future possibilities. There are plans to close 1,488 schools. Schools are being closed in my constituency. Even today, despite spending so much money on education, the situation is worrisome. There are no principals in the mountain schools. He said that the government should make Almora Medical College a model college
