Haridwar: Kanwar Mela 2025 has begun. Shiva devotees from every corner of the country are reaching Haridwar and taking Ganga water and heading towards their respective Shiva temples. At the same time, some Kanwariyas are risking their lives and bathing at the accident-prone places of the river Ganga, due to which incidents of Kanwariyas drowning in the Ganga are also being recorded. The latest case is of Prem Nagar Ashram Ghat in Haridwar. Here, a Kanwariya who came from Uttar Pradesh started flowing due to the strong current of the river Ganga. During this, the Kanwariya caught hold of the chain tied on the bridge. The SDRF team reached the spot and rescued the Kanwariya.
Giving information, SDRF SI Ashish Tyagi said that on Saturday morning at 10:35 a Kanwariya who was bathing at Prem Nagar Ghat suddenly came in the strong current of the Ganga. During this, the Kanwariya caught hold of the chain tied on the bridge. The SDRF team deployed on the spot rescued the Kanwariya. The Kanwariya has been identified as 16-year-old Adarsh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
SDRF SI Ashish Tyagi has appealed to all the Shiv bhakts coming to Haridwar through a video to be careful while bathing in the Ganga. Because the flow of the Ganga is different from other rivers. Also, crossing the Ganga can cost you your life. Therefore, bathe in the Ganga river within the railing.
