He stated that the Budget Session 2026 will begin on Wednesday, January 28th, and will continue until April 2nd. He shared this information on social media.
He said that the Budget Session will be held in two phases. The first phase will begin on January 28th and continue until February 13th. The second phase will begin on March 9th and run until April 2nd. Sharing the post, Kiren Rijiju wrote that on the recommendation of the Government of India, President Droupadi Murmu has approved the convening of both Houses of Parliament for the Budget Session 2026. The President’s address will be delivered on January 28th. According to the information, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey on Thursday, January 29th, 2026. The proceedings of both Houses will remain suspended on Saturday as well. The Union Budget 2026 will be presented on Sunday.
The Union Budget 2026 will be presented on Sunday, February 1st, 2026. After the discussion on the President’s address and the motion of thanks on the Union Budget 2026, the Parliament proceedings will be adjourned on February 13th. The proceedings of both Houses will resume again on March 9th and continue until April 2nd. It is worth noting that the Budget Session of Parliament 2026 is usually divided into two parts, with a break in between so that the Standing Committees can examine the demands for grants of various ministries. Like the Winter Session of Parliament 2025, the Budget Session 2026 is also likely to see the introduction or discussion of several laws.
AI Summit to be held in February

Although Parliament proceedings are usually adjourned on Sundays, the government is presenting the Union Budget 2026 on Sunday, February 1st. Considering Good Friday on April 3rd and the following Saturday, the central government is concluding the Budget Session 2026 on April 2nd.
