Hundreds of unemployed nurses, under the leadership of the Nursing Unity Forum, marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence. Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat also arrived to support the protesting unemployed individuals. Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat said, “You were arrested even on the day you were protesting. The way you are struggling for your hopes and demands, whenever there is a struggle and unity in a democracy, the result is always positive.”
Harak Singh Rawat said that before the march to the Chief Minister’s residence, he called the Health Minister, who informed him that he was in West Bengal. The state president of the forum, Naval Pundir, said that the organization has been staging a sit-in for several days with several demands, including year-wise recruitment and relaxation in the age limit. On Monday, all the unemployed members of the organization marched to the Chief Minister’s residence.
Earlier, hundreds of unemployed individuals had also marched to the Chief Minister’s residence. During this time, a clash occurred between the unemployed protesters and the police in Hathibarkala, lasting for about two hours. A female police officer has also been accused of assaulting a woman participating in the march. A video of this incident is also going viral on social media. Following this behavior of the unemployed protesters, workers led by the state president of the Mahila Congress, Jyoti Rautela, staged a protest and raised slogans against the government.
