Dehradun: The month of September 2025 became a symbol of struggle, hope and change for the unemployed youth of Uttarakhand. The paper leak case in the state created such a storm that the voices of the youth echoed from the streets to the secretariat. The movement not only shocked the government but also raised serious questions about the state’s recruitment system. After continuous protests, dharnas and protests, finally Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself had to come forward and take decisive action and for the first time, the government had to recommend a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) investigation in a paper leak case.
The state government has sent a proposal for a CBI inquiry to the central government. Now the decision of the central government is awaited. The state government is saying that the Home Ministry is likely to take a final decision on this soon. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters has been entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating with the Centre so that there is no delay in the process.
SIT investigation continues: On the one hand, the process of CBI investigation is on its formal path, while the SIT investigation of the state police is also going on at a fast pace. In this connection, a public dialogue programme was organised in the capital Dehradun under the chairmanship of retired Justice UC Dhyani. The event was attended by examinees, agitators, parents and the general public.
