Bengaluru: Bengaluru South Division Police have arrested two more accused in the ₹7.11 crore ATM cash van robbery case. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh stated that Dinesh and Jinesh were arrested in Chennai. Police are preparing to interrogate them.
Earlier, Bengaluru Police arrested CMS Securities’ custodian vehicle supervisor Gopal Prasad, former employee Xavier, Govindapura Police Station constable Annappa Naik, and their accomplices in crime, Naveen, Nelson, and Ravi.
The Commissioner stated that a total of ₹6.29 crore has been seized in this case. No money has been recovered from the arrested accused yet. They have hidden the money at various locations. Investigations are underway to recover the remaining money.
Five arrested so far:
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh announced the arrest of three accused in a press conference on Saturday. At that time, he suspected the involvement of six to eight people in the incident. He said that the police were searching for other accused. Now, the police have arrested two more accused, bringing the total number of arrests to five.
What happened:
On November 19th, a broad daylight robbery occurred on Bengaluru’s Dairy Circle flyover. A group of five or six people arrived in a car, posing as RBI officials, and stopped a vehicle belonging to a company that loads cash into ATMs. One of the accused got into the custodian’s vehicle and asked the driver to drive towards Dairy Circle. They forced the security guards and custodian staff into the car, snatched their mobile phones, and then looted ₹7.11 crore (71.1 million rupees) from the vehicle.
