Before the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) begins in Uttarakhand, you can register your vote, delete your name, or change your address. After the SIR begins, this process will stop, and only applications will be accepted.
Voters whose names appear in two places on the voter list should immediately remove their name from one place. If you have a name in two places, you may face a notice from the Election Commission. Similarly, those who do not have a voter ID can also register their vote to be included in the SIR. This entire process is currently underway in Uttarakhand. Once the SIR is announced, the process will stop. Only applications will be accepted, which will be processed only after the SIR is completed.
To register a new vote, the Election Commission’s website voters.eci.gov.in provides the facility to fill out Form 6 online. You can apply for a new vote by uploading your documents here. A link to Form 7 is provided on the same website to delete a vote from one place if you have two votes.
Fill out Form 8 on the website.
Form 8 can be filled out on the website to make corrections to your name, address, etc. in your vote. Importantly, the Election Commission has provided guidelines along with all these links. You may need your mobile number and Aadhaar card.
Applications only during the SIR.
Applications can only be made after the SIR begins. Applications will only be processed after the SIR ends. However, those who register their votes now will be eligible to participate in the SIR.
