Almora: Police has arrested three accused of firing incident that took place on the day of counting of votes in Dwarahat block pramukh election. Police has arrested all three accused from Karbala-Base Hospital Road. All three accused were riding in Scorpio. All three accused are residents of Nainital district.
According to the information received from the police, Kailash Bhatt had given a complaint that due to election rivalry, Deepak Kiraula, Sonu Dhamela, Gaurav Negi and others entered his hotel. After which they tried to kill him by firing from a revolver. They also abused and threatened to kill him. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police started action by registering a case against the three in Dwarahat police station.
On the instructions of SSP Devendra Pincha, various police teams formed to investigate the case scanned more than 50 CCTV cameras. After which the action to catch the attackers started. Police started the search to catch the accused. After which Rahul Rawat son Anil Singh Rawat resident of village Fatehpur police station- Mukhani district Nainital, Mahendra Singh Ghanela alias Sonu Ghanela son Bahadur Singh Ghanela resident of village Pitholi police station Mukteshwar district Nainital currently resident Vivek Vihar near Reliance Tower police station- Mukhani district – Nainital and Kamal Paliwal son Inderdev Paliwal resident of village Paniyali Kattharia police station- Mukhani district Nainital, all three were arrested from a Scorpio UK04V7997 on the road going from Karbala to Base Hospital in Almora.
Senior Superintendent of Police Devendra Pincha said that on the day of counting of Block Pramukh, an incident of assault and firing took place during the counting in Dwarahat. On this, an FIR was immediately registered by the police in Dwarahat police station. After which the CCTV installed there was searched. In which three accused were found. On the basis of which information was gathered about the three. The police saw the same car on the road going from Karbala to Base. After which action was taken to arrest them. These three accused are residents of Mukhani police station area of Haldwani. During interrogation, all three told that they had come to Dwarahat for elections.
