On his birthday today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Healthy Women, Empowered Family” and the “8th National Nutrition Month” campaigns from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, along with other dignitaries, were present virtually at the event held at the Government Doon Medical College. Health camps were also launched in medical facilities across the state in conjunction with the launch of the campaign. Thousands of people underwent health checkups and availed themselves of other health services at these camps.
In a press conference held on this occasion, the Governor said, “Only a healthy and aware woman can give a new direction to society. This campaign is the foundation for the strength of both family and society.” He called on the public to actively participate in this campaign and transform it into a mass movement, so that every woman has access to comprehensive health care and can live a respectful, safe, and healthy life.
Speaking to the media after the event, the Chief Minister wished the Prime Minister a happy birthday and prayed for his healthy and long life. The Chief Minister noted that today, along with Vishwakarma Jayanti, is also Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The “Healthy Women, Empowered Family” campaign has been launched on this occasion. The Health Department has made extensive preparations for this campaign, which will continue until October 2nd, so mothers and sisters across the state can benefit from it.
During the event, State Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, speaking to reporters, said that today, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, he has launched a special campaign, which is crucial for the health of the general public, especially women. He informed that the “Healthy Women, Empowered Family” campaign has been launched across the state. Under this campaign, approximately 4,114 health camps have been set up in government medical colleges, district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centers, and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Thousands of people have come to undergo health checkups and avail themselves of other health services. Dr. Rawat informed that public representatives, ministers in charge of districts, MPs, MLAs, mayors, district panchayat presidents etc. participated in these health camps. He informed that the health camps organized under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan will be monitored daily, for which the District Magistrates of all the districts have been given the responsibility. He informed that concrete instructions have been given to the departmental officers to ensure that maximum number of people can benefit from this campaign.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, MP Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, MLAs Khajan Das, Vinod Chamoli, Savita Kapoor, Suresh Gadiya, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar along with departmental officers and a large number of people were present.
