In this episode, today Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting at the Dehradun CM residence. Many important decisions have been taken during the meeting. It mainly instructed that no construction of any kind will be allowed at places sensitive to natural disasters. Along with this, all kinds of government or private construction work will also be banned on the banks of natural water sources, rivers and streams of the state.
Chief Minister Dhami has given clear instructions to the officials that places sensitive to landslides, avalanches and other natural disasters in the mountainous areas of the state should be immediately identified, so that vigilance can be taken before the possible danger. Chief Minister Dhami has warned of strict disciplinary action against the officers who violate the instructions.
Let us tell you that on August 5, there was a flood of water from Kheerganga in Dharali market of Uttarkashi district, which has ruined the entire Dharali market. Now Dharali market is buried under a pile of debris. Rescue operation is going on in Dharali for the last seven days. At present, the state government has informed about the disappearance of 66 people in this disaster. At the same time, five people have been said to have died.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is taking daily information about the rescue operation. CM Dhami also camped in the disaster-affected areas for several days. He himself monitored the rescue operation. According to Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, about 1200 people trapped in the disaster-affected areas have been rescued. Now the government has to try to find the lives buried in the debris. Apart from this, the disaster victims have been given financial assistance of five lakh rupees by the state government.
The biggest danger at this time is the temporary lake built on the helipad in Harshil valley, due to which the Gangotri highway has also submerged. This lake is spread over about 4 km and due to this lake, the flow of Bhagirathi has also stopped. That is why the technical team of irrigation department and other organizations is trying to puncture the lake, so that water can leak out slowly from this lake and the potential danger can be overcome.
