Ajmer: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev says that if there are Vedas, there is Sanatan, and if there is Sanatan, there is India. The Vedas should be given more prominence in the Indian education system. Baba Ramdev arrived on Saturday, the second day of the three-day Silver Jubilee celebrations and annual Shivratri Festival of Brahma Savitri Veda Vidyapeeth in Pushkar. National saint Govind Giri Maharaj and Rajasthan government’s Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat were present at the event.
In his address, Baba Ramdev said that the Vedas need more prominence in India’s education system. If there are Vedas, there is Sanatan, and if there is Sanatan, there is India. Describing the future of Vedic religion as bright, he said that it is essential to integrate Indian values into the current education system. Sanatan has broad roots, and India’s cultural identity symbolizes unity in diversity. He said that some people have turned away from the Vedas, and they have also turned away from Sanatan. But even today, for thousands of years, the same community has protected the Vedas and performed intense penance.
In his conversation, Baba Ramdev said that the Constitution of the country is considered supreme. Similarly, considering the Vedic laws supreme, he not only studies the Vedas but also lives the Vedas. The Vedas are believed to have originated from Brahma, and this place of Brahma is a great pilgrimage site. Here, through the efforts of Saint Govind Dev Giri, the teaching of the Vedas is being imparted through the Vidyapeeth. He said that he is very happy to see the students taught by Saint Govind Dev Giri now serving as Acharyas. This shows that the Vedas are being passed on to the next generation.
At the ceremony, National Saint and Mahant Govind Dev Giri of the Shri Ram Temple Trust in Ayodhya honored students studying at the Vidyapeeth who have achieved excellence in various fields. In his address, he said that this project of studying the Vedas began amidst many challenges. Initially, the Vidyapeeth faced opposition, but later, those who opposed it became its true supporters. They stated that Pushkar is the best place to find the origin of the Vedas. Indeed, Pushkar is a place of spiritual practice for the attainment of mantras. Meanwhile, Rajasthan’s Water Resources Minister, Suresh Singh Rawat, in his address, assured the Vidyapeeth of all possible support. The ceremony also featured over 14 Vedic performances by the Vidyapeeth’s students.
