New Delhi: As the festival of Holi approaches, millions of people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar working in different states across the country begin preparing to return home. The number of migrant workers or business people in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Rajasthan, and other cities is quite high. Consequently, trains are overcrowded during the festival, making it difficult to get confirmed tickets. In view of this situation, the railway administration has decided to operate several special trains for Holi this year as well.
East Central Railway CPRO Saraswati Chandra informed the media that a list of special trains has been released to manage the extra crowds and provide a smooth journey to passengers. These trains will run via various major stations on scheduled dates, providing great relief to passengers traveling to Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Special trains between Pune and Danapur
Two pairs of special trains will operate from Pune to Danapur.
Train No. 01481 (PuneโDanapur Special)
Will depart from Pune at 7:55 PM every Monday and Friday from February 23rd to March 6th, 2026. The train will arrive in Danapur at 8:00 AM, stopping at DDU, Buxar, and Ara.
Train No. 01482 (DanapurโPune Special)
Will depart from Danapur at 10:00 AM on Wednesdays and Sundays from February 25th to March 8th, 2026, and arrive in Pune at 6:15 PM the next day. In addition, a daily special train is also being operated.
01449 PuneโDanapur Special
Will depart from Pune at 3:30 PM every day from February 21st to March 8th, 2026, and arrive in Danapur at 2:45 AM the next day.
01450 DanapurโPune Special
Will depart Danapur daily at 5:00 am from February 23 to March 10, 2026, and arrive in Pune at 6:15 pm the next day.
Special trains from Lokmanya Tilak to Danapur and Samastipur
Special trains will also operate from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai to Bihar.
