New Delhi: As the festival of Holi approaches, millions of people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar working in different states across the country begin preparing to return home. The number of migrant workers or business people in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Rajasthan, and other cities is quite high. Consequently, trains are overcrowded during the festival, making it difficult to get confirmed tickets. In view of this situation, the railway administration has decided to operate several special trains for Holi this year as well.
East Central Railway CPRO Saraswati Chandra informed the media that a list of special trains has been released to manage the extra crowds and provide a smooth journey to passengers. These trains will run via various major stations on scheduled dates, providing great relief to passengers traveling to Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Special trains between Pune and Danapur
Two pairs of special trains will operate from Pune to Danapur.
Train No. 01481 (Pune–Danapur Special)
Will depart from Pune at 7:55 PM every Monday and Friday from February 23rd to March 6th, 2026. The train will arrive in Danapur at 8:00 AM, stopping at DDU, Buxar, and Ara.
Train No. 01482 (Danapur–Pune Special)
Will depart from Danapur at 10:00 AM on Wednesdays and Sundays from February 25th to March 8th, 2026, and arrive in Pune at 6:15 PM the next day. In addition, a daily special train is also being operated.
01449 Pune–Danapur Special
Will depart from Pune at 3:30 PM every day from February 21st to March 8th, 2026, and arrive in Danapur at 2:45 AM the next day.
01450 Danapur–Pune Special
Will depart Danapur daily at 5:00 am from February 23 to March 10, 2026, and arrive in Pune at 6:15 pm the next day.
Special trains from Lokmanya Tilak to Danapur and Samastipur
Special trains will also operate from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai to Bihar.

Will depart daily at 10:30 am from February 21 to March 8, 2026, and arrive in Danapur at 6:45 pm the next day.
01144 Danapur–Lokmanya Tilak Special
Will depart Danapur daily at 9:30 pm from February 22 to March 9, 2026, and arrive in Mumbai at 7:45 am the third day.

will depart from Samastipur at 12:15 pm on February 24 and March 3, 2026, and arrive at Samastipur at 11:45 pm the next day.
01044 Samastipur–Lokmanya Tilak Special
will depart from Samastipur at 3:00 am on February 26 and March 5, 2026, and arrive at Lokmanya Tilak at 4:25 pm the next day.
Convenience will also be available from Raxaul and Saharsa
Special trains have also been arranged to provide relief to passengers from border areas during Holi.

will depart from Raxaul at 7:15 pm every Tuesday from March 10 to March 31, 2026, and arrive at Lokmanya Tilak at 5:50 am the third day.

Will depart Mumbai every Thursday from March 12th to April 2nd, 2026, at 7:55 AM and arrive in Raxaul at 4:50 PM.

Will depart Saharsa every Friday from March 6th to March 27th, 2026, at 5:45 PM and arrive in Mumbai at 5:30 AM on the third day.

Will depart Lokmanya Tilak every Sunday from March 8th to March 29th, 2026, at 4:35 PM and arrive in Saharsa at 9:00 AM.
Special trains will also run from Sriganganagar and Ahmedabad.
Special facilities have also been provided for passengers traveling from Rajasthan to Bihar.

Will depart from Sriganganagar every Sunday in March and arrive at Samastipur.
04732 Samastipur–Sriganganagar Special
Will depart from Samastipur every Tuesday and arrive at Sriganganagar the next day. Two pairs of trains will also operate from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as Holi specials.
09465 Ahmedabad–Darbhanga Special
Will run as scheduled every Friday until March 27, 2026, as per its scheduled time and stoppages.
09466 Darbhanga–Ahmedabad Special
Will run every Monday until March 30, 2026.

The railway administration has urged passengers to confirm their train dates and times before traveling. Due to the high rush during the festival, it is advisable to make advance reservations.
These special trains being run for Holi will directly benefit millions of passengers.
