Gooseberry is not called superfood without any reason. Its unique medicinal properties are no less than a panacea for diabetes patients. Research has found that its nine elements are proving effective in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. This research has been done by the researchers of Soban Singh Jeena University.
Gooseberry is known as Phyllanthus emblica in the world of science. Researchers of SSJ University have succeeded in eliminating type 2 diabetes with the special elements present in it. During the research, it was found that the nine elements found in gooseberry are completely helpful in fighting diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, the peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma, GLP one agonist (glucagon like peptide one receptor agonist), SGLT 2 (sodium-glucose transporter two) proteins present in the body are affected. These proteins increase insulin in the body, control glucose absorption and improve insulin sensitivity. Dialogue
Know these beneficial elements
Researchers have identified gallic acid, ellagic acid, quercetin, kaempferol, luteolin, emblicanin A and B, corilagin, chebulagic acid, beta glucogallan which fight diabetes in amla.
These properties are amazing
Amla contains antioxidant, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiallergic, antiviral, anticancer and antidiabetic properties. Its leaves are used to treat cold, anemia, dysentery, fever, stones and wounds.
Types of diabetes
The types of diabetes are type one diabetes and type two diabetes. Both are related to the insulin hormone in the body. In type one diabetes, insulin production in the body stops. Insulin injection is necessary. In type two diabetes, insulin is produced in the body but the body is unable to use it properly. This is due to unbalanced diet and inactive lifestyle.
Revealed in WHO report
According to the report of World Health Organization (WHO), around 20 million people around the world suffer from diabetes. This figure is likely to double by 2030. 90 to 95 percent of them are suffering from type 2 diabetes. Dialogue

If the research is successful in clinical trials as well, then it will be a big achievement in diabetes treatment. The medicines prepared from this will be safe for the patient and available at very affordable prices. – Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Research Scholar, SSJ University Almora
