The police have released a traffic route diversion plan for the Shardiya Kanwar Mela. The traffic diversion will be in effect from 8 AM on February 5th to 12 AM on February 15th. During this period, the movement of heavy vehicles on the Haridwar-Najibabad road will be completely restricted. SSP Pramendra Singh Dobhal said that the route plan has been released and all subordinates have been instructed to strictly enforce it.
Alternative routes for heavy vehicles:
– Heavy vehicles coming from Sidcul, Dehradun, and Rishikesh that need to go towards Bijnor, Moradabad, or Nainital will be diverted via Haridwar, Roorkee, and Muzaffarnagar to their destination. The return journey will also be via the same route.
Vehicles related to essential services, such as food supplies, petroleum products, gas, and medical supplies, will be allowed to travel from Haridwar towards Najibabad, Moradabad, and Nainital from 11 PM to 4 AM.
– Roadways buses going from Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar to Bijnor, Moradabad, and Nainital will go via Ladpur and the canal embankment to their destination.
– On their return journey, all buses coming from Bijnor and Najibabad to Haridwar will reach Haridwar via Bijnor, Ganga Barrage, Monti Tiraha (Mirapur), and Muzaffarnagar.
– The route for private buses coming from Kotdwar to Haridwar remains unchanged.
Restrictions on Roorkee, Laksar, Balawali road:
– The movement of heavy and medium vehicles will be completely stopped on the Roorkee to Laksar and Balawali road. Temporary restrictions may also be imposed on light vehicles if necessary.
– Small private vehicles coming from Najibabad will come to Chidiyapur, Shyampur, 4.2 Diversion Point, Chandi Chowki, Chandi Chowk Parking, Deendayal, Pantdweep, and Chamgadar Tapu.
– Kanwar vehicles will come from Najibabad to Chidiyapur, Shyampur, 4.2 Diversion, Gaurishankar, and Neel Dhara parking. – Vehicles will go from Gauri Shankar/Neel Dhara parking to Hanuman Temple intersection, Chandi Bhawan intersection, Chandi Chowk, Chandi Devi Ropeway, 4.2 Diversion, and then to Shyampur and Najibabad.
– If traffic congestion increases significantly, all vehicles coming from Najibabad will be stopped at Gauri Shankar and Neel Dhara parking.
– Vehicles coming from Delhi, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar will be directed from Narsan, Manglaur, Core College, Khyati Dhaba, and Shankaracharya Chowk to Alaknanda, Deendayal, Pantdweep, and Chamgadar Tapu parking.
– In case of increased crowds, vehicles will be diverted to Bairagi Camp parking via an alternative route.
Devotees coming from Punjab and Haryana will go from Saharanpur, Mandawar, Bhagwanpur, Saliyar, Bijoli Chowk, NH-344, Core College, Khyati Dhaba, and Shankaracharya Chowk to Alaknanda, Deendayal, Pantdweep, and Chamgadar Tapu parking.
– Vehicles coming from Dehradun and Rishikesh will arrive at Pantdweep, Chamgadar Tapu Maidan, and Laljiwala Maidan parking via Nepali Farm, Raiwala, Dudhadhari intersection, Sarvanand Ghat, and Jairam Mod.
– A one-way system will remain in effect for vehicles coming from the Cheela route. This route will only be used by vehicles coming from Rishikesh to Haridwar.
Zero Zone and One-Way System will be in effect here:
– A zero zone will be in effect from Post Office intersection to Har Ki Pauri, and from Bhimgoda Barrier to Har Ki Pauri. One-way traffic will be in effect on various routes from Shivmurti to Devpura Chowk. In case of increased crowds, autos, Vikram taxis, and e-rickshaws will be completely prohibited from Chandi Chowk, Shivmurti, Tulsi Chowk, and Bilkeshwar intersection.
– There will be a special diversion for autos, Vikram taxis, and e-rickshaws. Autos coming from Dehradun/Rishikesh will be turned back from Saptarishi Barrier, and e-rickshaws coming from Jwalapur, Kankhal, Jagjitpur, and BHEL areas will be turned back from designated intersections.
