Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that today is the day to remember the immortal martyrs Bhagwan Singh Sirola, Pratap Singh, Rampal, Salim Ahmed, Gopichand, Dharmanand Bhatt and Paramjit Singh who sacrificed their all in the Khatima firing incident during the Uttarakhand state movement. Every citizen of Uttarakhand will always be indebted to all these brave sons. On Monday, Chief Minister Dhami paid tribute to the martyred agitators during the state movement at the Shaheed Memorial Site in Khatima. The Chief Minister honored the families of the martyrs Nanak Singh, Narendra Chand, Jagat Singh, Anil Bhatt, Sharif Ahmed by giving them Angavastra. The Chief Minister said that the Khatima firing incident on September 1, 1994 inspired the people to take forward the fight for the rights of Uttarakhand. He said that the government is making every effort to realize the ideals and dreams of the state agitators. 10 percent horizontal reservation has been implemented in state government jobs for state agitators and their dependents. A monthly pension facility of Rs 3000 has also been started for the families of martyred agitators. Along with this, a pension of Rs 6000 is being given to injured and jailed agitators and Rs 4500 per month to active agitators.
Along with issuing identity cards to the identified state agitators, 93 agitators have also been employed in government service. The agitators are also being provided the facility of free travel in roadways buses.
First in the country to implement UCC, anti-copying law
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has implemented the Uniform Civil Code first in the country. The most effective anti-copying law of the country has been implemented, after which more than 24 thousand youth have succeeded in getting government jobs. The government is continuously working to protect the demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Strict anti-conversion and anti-riot laws have been implemented in the state. More than seven thousand acres of government land has been freed from encroachment. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered the oath of the Himalaya Bachao Abhiyan to the public. MP Ajay Bhatt, District Panchayat Chairman Ajay Maurya, MLA Bhuvan Kapri, Municipal Council Chairman Ramesh Chand Joshi, Block Pramukh Sarita Rana, Dr. Anil Kapoor Dabbu, Subhash Barthwal, Mohini Pokhariya, Farzana Begum, Randeep Pokhariya, Nandan Khadayat, Amit Pandey, Santosh Gaurav etc. were present there.
Divorced daughters of identified agitators will also get reservation
Chief Minister Dhami said that under the new law, abandoned, widowed and divorced daughters of identified agitators will also be able to get the benefit of this reservation. The Chief Minister said that the role of Nari Shakti in the movement of Uttarakhand has been very important, they participated enthusiastically in the movement. In view of the role of Matri Shakti in the formation of the state, the state government has implemented 30 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for the women of the state. Along with the overall development of the state, many historic decisions have been taken in the interest of the state.
