The Surkanda Devi Ropeway will be completely closed on October 20th, the day of Diwali. This information was provided by ropeway company coordinator Naresh Bijalwan. He added that the ropeway will formally resume operations at 8 am on October 21st, the day after Diwali.
Due to the ropeway not operating on Diwali, devotees visiting the Surkanda Temple for darshan and worship will have to walk approximately one and a half kilometers from Kaddukhal to the temple.
