The Finance Department has begun reviewing the proposals submitted by various departments for the 2026-27 budget. The allocation of funds in the upcoming budget will be based on how much of the previously approved budget each department has utilized.
On Friday, the budget proposal of the Home Department was reviewed under the chairmanship of Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar. Officials from both the Finance and Home Departments discussed the budget allocation for each item included in the proposal. New schemes and infrastructure development are being given priority in the budget.
Budgetary provisions will be made for schemes approved by the central government and those announced by the Chief Minister. The Finance Secretary stated that proposals from all departments for the 2026-27 financial year budget have been received.
The department-wise proposals are being reviewed. The Home Department’s proposal was reviewed on Friday, and the Education Department’s will be reviewed on Saturday. โโThe amount of budget requested by each department for each item will be thoroughly examined before being included in the general budget.
