A National Household Income Survey is set to commence in Uttarakhand on April 1st and will continue until March 2027. Data pertaining to the income of every household will be collected. A training program for this initiative was organized at the auditorium of the Forest Survey of India.
During the event, Kedar Nath Verma—Deputy Director General and Regional Head of the National Statistical Department—announced that this marks the first time a National Household Income Survey is being conducted in the country. During the training camp, officers and staff members of the Indian Statistical Service were provided with detailed information regarding the survey methodology, data collection procedures, and verification processes.
Experts explained that field teams would conduct door-to-door visits to selected households to gather information regarding income derived from salaries, agricultural activities, wages, and other sources. This survey is expected to lay a crucial foundation for achieving the goals of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ (Developed India 2047). Deputy Director Nitish Kumar, Assistant Directors Sanjay Raturi and Yogesh Kumar, along with Senior Statistical Officers Pushkar Singh Bisht, Abhishek Singhal, Animesh Mayank, Shweta Sharma, and Kuldeep Singh, provided insights and information during the program.
