Parliamentary Affairs Minister Subodh Uniyal said the government will investigate the issue of issuing a tribal certificate to a woman in Dharchula, Pithoragarh district, and take a decision within a month. Congress MLA Harish Dhami raised the issue of issuing a tribal certificate to a non-tribal woman in the House.
He said the rights of tribal people are not protected. On August 29, 2025, a complaint regarding the tribal certificate was sent to the district administration and the Secretary of Social Welfare through the registry, but no action has been taken to date. This matter should be investigated and strict action should be taken against the culprits
