The condition of seven Nepali workers including a woman worker deteriorated after eating wild mushrooms. After first aid at Community Health Center Rikhnikhal, all the workers are being treated at Base Hospital Kotdwar. Their lives were saved narrowly due to timely treatment.
A large number of workers from Surkhet district of Nepal live and work in different areas of Pauri Garhwal. More than 20 workers are engaged in the construction work of a hotel in Gumkhal. After finishing work on Monday evening, Lal Bahadur plucked mushrooms from behind the hotel and brought them and cooked vegetables for dinner.
Since all the workers were staying at the same place, many workers shared the vegetables and ate them on Monday night. About an hour after eating, the condition of the workers started deteriorating. The workers suffering from vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache, restlessness started screaming.
Other workers hurriedly took them to CHC Rikhnikhal. When their condition did not improve even after first aid, all the workers were sent to Base Hospital by ambulance at 4 am on Tuesday. After a day-long treatment there, the condition of the workers is said to be out of danger.
