Chamoli: The body of Manoj, who was missing from Nandanagar, was found in the forest of Ghangaria after 14 days under suspicious circumstances. The family members, alleging Manoj’s murder, reached the district headquarters with hundreds of villagers on Monday and created a ruckus. The police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. The police is now talking about taking further action on the basis of the PM report.
According to the case, Manoj, a resident of Nandanagar, used to operate horses for passengers from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli. Manoj suddenly went missing on the night of June 29. During this time, the owner thought that Manoj had gone home. Whereas the family members could not contact Manoj.
Due to not being able to contact Manoj, the family filed a missing report of Manoj on July 7. After which the family and the police started searching for Manoj. Meanwhile, Manoj’s body was found in the forest of Ghangaria on Sunday. The family members, alleging Manoj’s murder, staged a protest at the district headquarters on Monday along with hundreds of villagers.
Giving information, outpost in-charge Ghangharia Amandeep Singh said that Manoj was missing since the night of June 29. Manoj’s body was found in the forest of Ghangharia on Sunday. At present, the body has been taken into custody and postmortem is being conducted. Whether it was murder or suicide will be revealed only after the postmortem report arrives.
