The mapping of voters from Uttarakhand’s 2003 electoral roll has been completed, but the mapping of voters who were in other states in 2003 but are now registered in Uttarakhand will only be possible after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process begins in the state.
The SIR is expected to begin in February. Prior to this, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office conducted pre-SIR BLO (Booth Level Officer) mapping. In the mapping completed by January 10th, 59 lakh out of the state’s 85 lakh voters were mapped. All of these voters were registered in Uttarakhand in the 2003 electoral roll. Therefore, the BLOs, having mapped voters within their own state, have exempted them from submitting any documents during the SIR process.
App-based mapping of all voters will only begin when the SIR starts.
A large number of voters in the state are currently registered in Uttarakhand but were registered in Uttar Pradesh or other states in 2003. While their information has been collected during the pre-SIR process, the BLOs have not yet mapped them using the app. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande stated that app-based mapping of all these voters will only begin once the SIR process starts in the state. The Election Commission has not yet announced the start date for the SIR in Uttarakhand.
Prepare your documents in advance
Voters who were residents of other states or were registered in other states in 2003 should prepare their documents before the SIR begins. They will need to provide information about their 2003 voter registration or the voter registration details of their parents or grandparents. If this information is not available, they will need to provide one of the 12 other documents issued by the Election Commission along with the SIR form.
