The appearance of 19 primary and upper primary schools under the state’s primary education department will soon be transformed. More than Rs. 4 crore has been sanctioned for the reconstruction and repair of the buildings of these schools. A construction agency has also been appointed for the work. Orders in this regard will be issued by the government soon.
The state’s School Education Minister, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, said that the state government is committed to strengthening the infrastructure and physical resources in primary schools to make them well-equipped. In this regard, the government has sanctioned Rs. 4.12 crore for the reconstruction, repair, and construction of classrooms, etc., in 19 government primary and upper primary schools in five districts of the state. This includes 5 government primary schools in Pithoragarh district, 10 in Pauri Garhwal, 2 in Udham Singh Nagar, and one each in Rudraprayag and Almora districts. Of this, Rs. 14.12 lakh has been sanctioned for construction work at Government Primary School Chauragram in Pithoragarh, Rs. 23.50 lakh for Tildhukri, Rs. 11.50 lakh for Golmanu, Rs. 15.40 lakh for Kuniya, and Rs. 28 lakh for construction work at Government Upper Primary School Borabunga. Similarly, in Pauri district, Rs. 16.53 lakh each has been sanctioned for classrooms, headmaster’s room, etc., at Government Upper Primary School Guniyal and Primary School Moli; Rs. 21.87 lakh for Primary School Malaun; Rs. 25.56 lakh for Government Upper Primary School Kimoli; Rs. 22.83 lakh for Jabaroli; Rs. 27.88 lakh for Chopra; Rs. 26.13 lakh for Palli; and Rs. 25.10 lakh each for various construction and maintenance works at Government Upper Primary School Bangaon, Primary School Bangaon, and Tandiyu. While in Udham Singh Nagar district, Rs. 17.01 lakh has been sanctioned for construction work at Government Model Upper Primary School Sadasadiya, and Rs. 23.44 lakh has been sanctioned for repair work, boundary wall construction, and other construction activities at Government Model Primary School Chandeli Tharupatti. Rs. 33.96 lakh has been sanctioned for Khandanau Primary School in Rudraprayag district, and Rs. 13.23 lakh for Government Primary School Lamasingh in Almora district. The departmental minister stated that the funds for repair and construction work in these primary schools have been sanctioned from the State Sector’s major construction fund. The Drinking Water Corporation and the Rural Construction Department have been designated as the implementing agencies. Orders in this regard will be issued soon by the government. Dr. Rawat stated that the construction work in these primary schools will be started soon so that the repair and beautification of the school buildings can be completed on time and the students can benefit from it.
*Three primary schools in Dehradun district to be renovated*
School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has approved an estimate of Rs. 69.16 lakh for repair work in three government primary schools under Raipur block of Dehradun district. This includes Rs. 12.97 lakh for repair work at Government Primary School Tunwala-2, Rs. 22.52 lakh for Araghar-2, and Rs. 33.67 lakh for various construction works at Government Girls Upper Primary School Araghar Dharampur. The Rural Construction Department has been selected as the implementing agency. Orders in this regard will be issued soon by the government
