While returning home from school, two students got buried under a tree that fell due to a strong storm. Due to this, they died a painful death on the spot. Other students walking in front and behind them ran and saved their lives.
The police and SDRF reached the spot and took out the bodies with great difficulty. As the bodies were very mutilated, the post-mortem was done on the spot. After this incident, there was mourning in the village.
This painful accident happened on Saturday near Nail village of Pilkhi in Bhilangana block. The students were returning home on foot after the school was over at Government Inter College Ghumetidhar at around 2.30 pm. When they were about 200 meters away from the village, it started raining.
During this time, due to a strong storm, a pine tree got uprooted and fell on them. Aarav Bisht (16) of Nail Pilkhi village, studying in class 10, and Mansi (14) of Nail village, studying in class 9, died on the spot after being buried under the heavy tree. Other students walking ahead and behind saved their lives by running away. They informed the family members about the incident.
The villagers who reached the spot tried to take out the bodies buried under the tree. Meanwhile, on receiving the information, the police and SDRF also reached the spot. They took out the bodies of both with great difficulty.
SHO Sanjeev Thapliyal said that seeing the bad condition of the bodies, on the demand of the villagers, the post-mortem was done on the spot and the bodies were handed over to the family members. Aarav’s father works in a hotel in Dehradun and Mansi’s father works in Gujarat. They have been informed about this incident. The atmosphere in Nael village became gloomy due to the death of two children. The family members are in a bad state, crying
