Today, on 7th September 2025, teachers of Dehradun district were honored by Gaura Devi Shikshak Samman Samiti in the Culture Department Auditorium, Dehradun. The chief guest of the committee was former Chief Minister Harish Rawat ji and the special guest was Mahavir Singh Rawat, former Minister of State, and Sheeshpal Singh Bisht, State Spokesperson Congress. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guests and the officials of the organization, after which Saraswati Vandana was presented by the children. In the program, the biography of the great philosopher and second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was highlighted and a documentary of the brief biography of Chipko Woman Gaura Devi ji was also shown. The coordinator of the program, Mr. Mahendra Singh “Negi Guruji” and the officials of the teachers’ organizations welcomed and greeted the chief guests by presenting them with badge decoration, garland, angavastra and flower bouquet. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat ji said that only the Guru gives the knowledge of God to his disciple. The meaning of life is unimaginable without the grace of the Guru. Even after having everything, if a disciple does not aspire for the grace of the Guru, then he cannot experience completeness in his life. All the great men in the world have given the credit of their success to the Guru. On this occasion, he assured all the teachers that no teacher will be harmed due to the current circumstances of the TET exam because the teachers appointed earlier have been appointed according to the rules of the time. In the program, the former Chief Minister won the hearts of the teachers with his eloquence and made the teachers present there clap several times. The Guru has the power to connect man with God; it is the Guru who makes his disciple meet God. The coordinator of the program Mahendra Singh Negi Guruji said that teachers are the lamps of our life who show us the light of knowledge in the darkness. They not only give us bookish knowledge but also teach us the values, ethics and self-confidence of life. A teacher enhances our personality, inspires us to turn our dreams into reality and paves the way for us to become a responsible citizen of the society. The creation of an ideal society and nation is possible only with an ideal teacher. In the program, about 500 teachers were honored by the chief guests, in which the following teachers were honored mainly from upper primary schools, Mrs. Anjana Rana, Vijaya Sharma, Dharmendra Panwar, Amita Rawat, Pushpa Madhwal, Geeta Sindhwal, Archana Thakur, Urmila Uniyal, Manju Negi, Kunwar Singh Pundir, Deepa Semwal, from non-government secondary schools, Mrs. Shobha Jugran, Mr. Ravindra Bhatt, Mr. Awadhesh Bahuguna, Mrs. Poonam Rajput, Mr. Narendra Singh, Mr. Dinesh Dobariyal, Neeraj Verma, Kuldeep Joshi, Vinod Pandey and Vijay Bhatt along with Mr. Anurag Chauhan, Prashant Saklani, Vinod Aswal, Laxman Solanki, Laxmikant Chauhan, Sanjay Makhloga, Manoj Payal, Hoshiyar Singh Pundir, Anil Pal etc. 400 teachers were honored. The teachers expressed their gratitude to the program coordinator Mr. Mahendra Singh Negi for organizing this event.
