Dehradun: The state government has also become alert due to the increase in the number of Covid infected patients in some states of the country. The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) gave guidelines to the state to increase surveillance for Covid prevention. On this, the Health Department has asked all the districts to be alert.
For the last one week, the number of Covid infected patients is increasing in Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu. At present, Chardham Yatra is being conducted in the state and it is also the tourist season. Most of the pilgrims are coming from these states in the Yatra. Apart from this, people from every corner of the world are reaching the Yatra.
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that guidelines were given to the CMOs of all the districts to increase surveillance for Covid management and prevention. The situation in the state is normal till now, but vigilance is necessary to prevent Covid infection.
If Covid infection is confirmed in the investigation of any patient, then genome sequencing of the infected sample will be done. Information on COVID testing, number of infected patients, number of hospitalized patients must be mandatorily provided on the IDSP portal.
